(3) Clinical Credits

When a person gets seriously ill or injured, it is more than a physical matter. Becoming seriously ill means a departing from the world of a normal life and entering the new worlds of illness and healthcare. This presentation will examine the individual’s experience of being seriously sick or injured and explore ways the social worker can understand, intervene and advocate from “where the client is”. The client and those close to them are thrown into an unexpected and challenging new world. Using a strengths perspective, strategies will be reviewed that can maximize the client’s own internal resources, as well as those of the family and healthcare system, to remove barriers to improve health outcomes.

There is no online registration for this course, since it is by the NJAHCSW.
