Relational-Cultural Theory: A Model for Contemporary Social Work Practice and Supervision
Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) offers a lens to the issues faced in contemporary social work practice. RCT integrates themes of power, privilege, race/ethnicity into a framework of human growth and development, which posits that we are at our best when we are in growth-producing relationships. There will be a focus on understanding the unique attributes and challenges faced in agency-based social work practice and supervision, and a collaborative 'working with' model is proposed.
