Social Work Job Search Strategies
NASW-NJ's Social Work Job Search Strategies is designed to guide and assist social workers who are either beginning or considering beginning a job search. Our goal is to provide you an overview of effective strategies that will facilitate a social work job search whether it is your first or final search. This is not intended to be a comprehensive guide; you can find additional job search books and materials at your local library, bookstores and online.
This document briefly addresses topics such as preparing for the job search, researching salaries, preparing for interviews, overcoming common obstacles, creating a viable plan of action, the importance of networking, and the use of websites and other resources.
